The Organizing Committee announced this and other great news during the press conference presenting the 2008 edition of the race at the Palacongressi Convention Center in Riva del Garda. At present, nearly 50% of participants come from Germany, Austria, Netherlands, Great Britain, the United States, Turkey, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland. Organizers expect even more athletes to register: as a result, it was decided to increase the number of ferryboats that will be used by the athletes during the days of the marathon.
