The Australian Sailing Team are continuing their strong Olympic lead-up program, winning a total of three Gold medals at the Delta-Lloyd Regatta in Holland.
The Men’s 470 team of Nathan Wilmot and Malcolm Page won the team’s first Gold medal yesterday and another two have been added to the tally overnight.

Sun, 15/06/2008 - 05:20 — mathieuhigginsWhat an amazing place! Villa Stella was a great base for our 470 sailing here on Lake Garda, we sailed from Riva - but Torbole has a beautiful relaxed atmosphere, Angelica and all the staff at Villa Stella were a huge help, and the next time we come back to Garda - they will be the first call! :)
Thanks again, and you can read more about our 470 campaign towards the 2012 Olympic games in London at our team Blog http://higginslynch.spaces.live.com

Mon, 02/06/2008 - 18:51 — AUS 352Firstly a thank you to the Angelica and the team at Villa Stella you guys are great. Chelsea Hall and Myself (Stacey Omay) are members of the Australian Sailing Development Squad and we are making our European Championship Debut here in Riva Del Garda. We were so excited arriving in Italy for one Chelsea had never seen snow till we passed through the beautiful Italian Alps and of course we had heard so many good things about sailing on Lake Garda to name just a few we heard there was strong winds, beautiful scenery and fresh water. Who could ask for more? Ill keep this short and say good luck to everyone and congratulations to the Australian Sailing team for there selection to Beijing. Ciao Stacey & Chelsea
Australian Olympic 470 AUS311 in Lake Garda
Sun, 01/06/2008 - 08:30 — AUS 311We are all very excited to have arrived in Lake Garda. Although we have sailed in many great places around the world, we have never been lucky enough to compete yet in Lake Garda. We have always heard such great stories of the "Ora" wind, fresh water (not having to wash the boat) and beautiful scenery. Since arriving we can honestly say that its living up to its reputation.
Leading into the Beijing games this will be our last major competition before the Olympics. We are trying to keep the best balance between training and enjoying the life in northern Italy (too much pizza and pasta!). We will be training over the next week, before the start of competition (8th July).
As we have won the European Championships before and all other majors 470 titles (except the Olympic medal), our first priority at this regatta will be to continue development towards the games. But as we will be retiring after the Beijing Olympics and after 11 years of 470 sailing, I know that when the regatta starts we will be trying hard to take another title with us.
The whole AUS 470 team is really enjoying our time in such a great place of the world. Thanks to Angelica at Villa Stella, who is looking after us so well. We really feel like we are with friends.
Regards
Malcolm
